EC Restart Official Statement

EC Restart is official. We will re-release the server after nearly 11 months of shutting down. Here are some things to expect and get ready for.

Who, what, where and when?
Right now, our project to release the only the survival server is being headed by Chris and has been approved by born as the official server that will bring back EC. This server will be in 1.8 and will have most of the plugins that you saw on old EC survival. We are, however, starting on a fresh new map so that no one has a disadvantage. Currently, we do not have a date on when we are releasing, but it will be quite soon. We have the server up and running and we only need to configure all the plugins correctly.

The ranking system, the punishment system, and the economy system will be the same. Highest rank is Owner, lowest rank is TrialMod. You will receive bans for cheating and warnings/mutes for offensive language as this is a PG server. However, you can speak whatever you want in town chat, /message, or outside the server.

What is Towny?

Instead of factions, we will be using Towny in this server. Towny is for more long-term bases compared to factions. With towny, you are guaranteed protection of whatever is in your town by default. In Towny, your goal is to head a strong economy and enlarge your town so you can dominate compared to factions where your goal is to destroy and dominate other factions. You will need to do /t create (town) to create a town and /t deposit (amount) to keep the town running. There is a daily upkeep, so make sure to have enough money in your town’s bank so your town does not collapse.

Economy:

We cannot guarantee value of items when buying or selling. We will have show case stand alone (SCS) to allow people to create shops. The main form of economy is to sell farm products, or by killing mobs. You can automate farms to gain large amounts of money and you can use the Mob Arena to find lots of mobs to kill. We will talk more about this on our release statement.

New features?

We are going to implement certain new features that will complement the basic Towny play style. We will be implementing old features such as the EC donor ranks and armor kit/weapon purchases as well as new features such as crates. We have also planned a PvP tournament minigame for those who want to earn a little more money.

After 11 months of your favorite server being down, our team hopes that we can bring back that EC that you players always loved. We hope to see you soon on our server!

As one of the longest players of EC, I just wanna commend the effort put into this. I’m glad familiar faces of our beloved community would be willing to step up and revive EC. It makes me happy that soon I could hopefully relive all of those memories.

There is also a 1mil balance cap for the first few weeks, as when Survival reset last time, people were earning tens of mills within a few weeks. This will also help if someone finds an eco bug.
