Should we use Spigot?

Many Premium servers (especially those with thousands of active players) use Spigot. Many server admins say that Spigot is faster than Bukkit.

I just want to send this message to Born because, you know, it’s a suggestion. It’s going to benefit many people because I’ve been on some Spigot servers and had an about 25% better performance to EC despite of the 2000+ players and tens of plugins.

Bukkit set the direction to Spigot. Without Bukkit, there’s no Spigot. So, there’s no reason for EC to leave Bukkit because it requires a lot of testing and set ups. I think that we should make a whitelisted experimental Spigot server, and then release it to the public when it is ready.

We really need input because it’s the thing that is making a picture of the decision. Everybody should participate.

I think bukkit is the real tested and it have experience over 2 years , bunch of commands and I don’t feel it’s necessary to change to spigot..

I think a test server just to experiment like maybe a test survival would be a good idea! Just to experiment with the spigot and if it doesn’t work just delete the server. I guess it’s worth the try! :O

All servers on ec currently use it. Bukkit is for plugins and spigot is what makes multiple servers in 1 network possible.

If we have spigot then why are premium servers with 1000s of peeps going faster than us? Are you sure that’s correct information Razor.

Yep, even with those server selector and whatever plugin that’s there.
Anyway, we have Spigot now so it’s complete useless.
