As you all know, the server has been lagging horribly lately, so we ended up adding the plugin clearlag, which is clearing dropped items and technically disabling everyone’s huge melon farms near spawn, so, the brilliant primus1213 came up with a smart design to lower the amount of melons being stuck out of hoppers when they’re clogged.

This design separates the melons dropped into different hoppers on each 30 blocks, so that the dropped melons do not stay floating when the hoppers are clogged.
We thought it would be better for everyone to use this design, for the following reasons:
– You will get more melons, so more money.
– It will stop us from removing your farms because of their lag.
– The server lag will be reduced.We need everyone to follow this design in their melon farms, if on 2/12/2013 your farm is not following this design it will be disabled and removed after 2 weeks. If the result of these designs is better we might even end up removing the ClearLag plugin, which we have had many complaints of.

I think this is a great idea, but hoppers generate some lag as well but not much though. It’s going to be a pain getting more hoppers.
Looks good. Seems like all players with automatic farms are adopting this change and are pretty much set. A decent enough iron farm would supply the hoppers.
wave, it really wasnt that hard, i spent about 150k on um, and i bout a lil too much,
I just did the math and it’s going to cost me close to 300k for my farm

300k for a melon farm is nothing, you can make that easily with a melon farm in a few hours. The ones that arent changed/fixed at 2 Dec will be disabled, and than 2 weeks from that on 16 Dec if they are still not changed/fixed we will delete them.
16 dec is my birthday lol
bongo what about those that use /cmagnet? It instantly suck the melon in so there shouldnt be any entities lyign around
How about Non automated farms? Like manual farms? @Bongo
No Lucas just the auto ones near spawn
I doubt that its still needed as the spawn is being moved anyways.
