/setguard

FAQ
—-

Q: What does it do?
A: It sets a player to be a “guard” for your house. For example, if you let someone on your plot temporarily or permanently, you can set someone to be a guard to make sure they don’t do what they are not allowed to.

Q: Can’t this be done without command?
A: Yes, but the command /setguard <player> <amount> will set a payment. It will be per hour they guard, but if even 1 block is broken by anyone but the player who set the guard, they won’t be paid.

Q: Like /plotme and /island, are there sub-commands?
A: Yes. Here is the list:

/setguard <player> <payment> – Sends guard request.
/setguard relieve – Relieves your guard, so they can go build alone.
/setguard call request – Sends request to your guard to come to your plot.
/setguard fire – Fires current guard.
/setguard tpa – Sends TPA request to guard.
/setguard tpahere – Sends TPAHERE request to guard.

(NOTE: Any commands may be edited, deleted, or created to make this work.)

Q: Can you have multiple guards?
A: If EternalCracked says so, then yes. That would make the “fire”, “relieve”, and “call to action” commands slightly more complicated, but still simple. You would just need the name of the player.

Q: Is there a budget for hiring wages?
A: Yes. You must pay more than $5 and less than $2000 per hour.

Q: Will guards be able to hit griefers?
A: No. Guards are there to keep an eye out. If someone griefs, they need to let a moderator know. That will be taken care of through them, and hopefully the moderator will ban and undo the griefer, so the guard will get their paycheck.

Sooo…
What do you all think? It is quite a bit of work, but I think it can be done! This would be a great addition to EternalCracked Creative.

Seems like a good idea, though in my opinion, it’s useless, and not that easy. You can’t just create some command and make it do stuff, you need to create a new plugin, meaning you need to know Java. Also, from what I understand this is also something with PlotMe (plots etc) So it will be even harder to make a plugin that relies on PlotMe, perhaps a plugin that acts like an add-on to it, which makes it even harder. If you or any other person is willing to do that sorts of coding, and make a good plugin, and not one that will crash or glitch, I have no problem in discussing this with the whole mod team, and there might be a chance it will be added.

I do understand it can be hard. If I can find someone who is good for making a plugin that works compatibly with the PlotMe plugin, I will let you know.

I do actually know an 18-year-old tech wiz. But I doubt even him, being a Minecraft expert, could make one. I’ll have to get back to you when I find someone.

BTW Deasertman, any chance you can set up command blocks? I want to make a team parkour mini game in my plot, but need command blocks to set gamemode to adventure. That way, people don’t break blocks. I can just have pressure plates that do /gamemode adventure @p. If you can do that, that’d be great. I’m signing off, so I hope I can catch you another time, if you are allowed to do that.

I vote down for adding this command. It’s useless, like what deasert said, because it’s basically a dude, who just watches the plot. BUT if borncorp does add factions, this will actually be very useful.

I don’t see why you would need command blocks, people wouldn’t be able to break anything unless they’re added to the plot. If you want to add someone to the plot, then it must be someone you trust.

Why do we need guard? I’m happy with what we have now. It’s perfectly safe and there’s very little chance of griefing here on EC. If you want you can always remove the players you added before you log out…
