Just a Suggestion To Fix Lag

I’ll try to keep this short, sweet, and to the point. I have read/been told that the plugin that detects the sponges on the server is, at least, partly to blame for the current server lag. If we were to leave the sponges blacklisted, but remove the plugin that detects them as a “world-saving” block, we could, theoretically, reduce the amount of lag in the server, correct? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I second this, its a shame that the most mods on in 3 months were on tonight and no one even answered me back about this.

The lag have already been reduced and the sponge is a way to also backup the world for easier rollbacks after a greifer greif something. The lag doens’t exist anymore sooooo yea.

From looking at sponges and how it works, it’s like towny mixed with LWC. The only thing the sponges lagg is the dynamic map, not the server.

I agree. This will release some RAM and speed up the server a little. Every bit counts!

Though this might not be true, I suggest to remove the Sponge Plugin until we can update to 1.7, it might reduce a bit lag because every plugin needs to be powered by the server too.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that wave, everyone seems to be saying that, but its laggy until right after a restart or the clearlag plugin kicks in. Its a Valid idea that needs to be looked into, because this lag is almost untolerable

How can it be the melon farms when they were like that for 6 months and very little lag. and now all of a sudden the server is laggy. also it was said before it was the sponges…
