Is there something wrong in what I am doing, or they just don’t work that way?

You need to use that command before. You can place a hopper like that,it will still connect to the chest.

I think you just need to do that command, it’ll work.

It worked btw, but you have to target both the hopper and the chest if anyone else wonders :)

I am not sure with the /chopper, but ast least you solved the issue.
